This RACI template uses a role-based approach to help you identify who is meant to play what role vis-a-vis each project task. We use a list of tasks plotted vertically with the four RACI Roles (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed) mapped out horizontally.
You are then left with a comprehensive grid where you can fill in the names of individual task owners (or stakeholders) for each task to clarify which RACI role they will play. To make it easy for you to visualize this, we use a color-coded system with each RACI role displayed in shades of blue (R), gray (A), red (C), and orange (I).
Note that in other templates in our RACI Matrix series, we assign RACI roles to individual team members as opposed to assigning team members to RACI roles as done in this one. This particular feature allows you to more easily figure out who is contributing to a specific task in which capacity. For those still new to the RACI framework, we have included a brief RACI User Guide where we explain what each RACI role entails, helping you more effectively assign roles to stakeholders.
