Designed as a tactical volleyball planning sheet, this template organizes all 6 rotations across 2 pages. Each rotation has 5 sub-sections, such as lineup, base, serve, serve receive, and notes.
For the lineup, base, serve, and serve receive, the template uses similar court diagrams. The court diagrams are further divided into two parts with a line to differentiate between the front and back rows.
- In the lineup, you need to show where each player starts on the court before the serve.
- In base, show the team’s default offensive or defensive formation. They are the positions where players move to after the serve.
- In serve, show your team’s position during serve.
- In serve receive, show how your team lines up to receive the opponent’s serve.
Lastly, there is a wide text box for the coach to write special instructions regarding rotations. It could be player matchups, setter calls, blocking assignments, or special plays.
In volleyball, the lineup rotates clockwise every time your team wins back the serve. Since there are 6 players, there are 6 possible rotation states, and each one can have a completely different tactical setup.
This template is most suitable to be used in pre-matches, during warm-ups, during the match, and even post-match to evaluate performance. This basically serves as a tactical playbook for the entire match.
