The volleyball rotation defense position sheet template is designed to help users plan defensive court positioning against different attacks. It not only tracks rotations but also focuses on how to block coverage and defensive court positioning.
The template uses a friendly layout. It contains a court diagram in the top left corner, which showcases players’ positions; OH (outside hitter), MB, M (middle blockers), OPP (opposite hitter), LB (left back), and RB (right back). Next to the chart, the template visually explains blocking tactics that will be used in the attacks stated below.
The first page lets you plan defensive strategy for M-I attack, M-gap attack, M-back 1 attack, and M-slide attack. Each attack category uses mini diagrams to show different defensive tactics using grey lines and shading.
The second page follows a slightly different layout. It groups the diagrams by attacker position rather than middle attack variations. For instance, against OH and against OPP. The template shows a base court diagram on the left side to show the default setting. On the right side, you can plan defense for each rotation.
Lastly, there is a notes section on the second page to give the user space for custom notes.
Coaches can use this template for tactical teaching and defensive system planning. It helps them explain defensive responsibilities visually using side-by-side diagrams. It can also be used for scouting and opponent preparation, which can be helpful for school teams, club volleyball, and camps.
