Free Envelope Address Templates - Edit Online
Not every mail is the same size, and not every address layout works for all of them. A design that looks perfect on an A7 might look crowded on an A1-sized envelope and can leave too much space on a C4 envelope. That’s why WordLayouts brings this editable collection of envelope address templates in different sizes and themes. Whether you are sending a wedding invitation, business mail, or anything else, these different-sized templates can be customized to fit your needs. Simply select the template, replace the placeholder addresses, adjust the fonts and decorative elements, and print the finished design onto your envelopes.

The collection has divided templates based on seven different size requirements. We have: A-series (North American greeting card and invitation envelopes)- A1 (5.125 × 3.625 in): Very small. Used for enclosure cards, gift tags, place cards, tiny thank-you notes, and RSVP cards tucked inside a larger invitation.
- A2 (4.375 × 5.75 in): Fits a standard note card folded in half (4.25 × 5.5 in). Popular for thank-you cards, personal notes, small greeting cards, and RSVP or reply cards.
- A6 (4.75 × 6.5 in): Fits a 4 × 6 in card or photo. Common for wedding and party invitations, announcements, holiday cards, and postcard-style mailers.
- A7 (5.25 × 7.25 in): Fits a 5 × 7 in card. The classic size for formal invitations (weddings, galas, graduations), larger greeting cards, and announcements.
- C5 (6.4 × 9 in): Fits an A5 sheet flat or an A4 sheet folded in half. Used for brochures, booklets, catalogs, certificates, and bulky business mail.
- C4 (12.8 × 9 in): Fits an A4 sheet unfolded. Used for important documents you don’t want to fold, such as contracts, reports, certificates, and large flyers.
- DL (8.66 × 4.33 in): Fits an A4 sheet folded in thirds. This is the standard business envelope for letters, invoices, statements, and bills.
How to Customize and Print an Envelope Address Template
Step 1: Choose the envelope size according to your theme
While selecting the envelope, first check what you are sending and the size of the mail. If it’s a wedding invitation, select romantic, floral, or couple-specific layouts. If it is for business use or a sad announcement, select a minimal or elegant design.Step 2: Replace the sample information
Next, replace the sample information on the template with your own. Enter the recipient's name, address, return address, and sender information in the correct placeholders. You can also adjust the text positioning and spacing if needed.Step 3: Customize the appearance
You can also change fonts, colors, and decorative elements of the templates. While adjusting the decorative elements, keep the address readable and leave appropriate space for postage. If you are preparing wedding invitations or greeting cards, you can also add a decorative touch to the inside of the envelope. For that, you can use our envelope liner, which is a patterned or decorative paper insert that fits inside the envelope and becomes visible when the recipient opens it.Step 4: Review the address
Before printing, make sure to review the sender and recipient addresses. Also check apartment/unit numbers, city, state, and ZIP codes. Make sure the mailing address and sender information are easy to read.Step 5: Print onto the envelope
Lastly, print the layout onto your envelopes. While printing, select the matching envelope size in the document and printer settings. You also have to check the printer compatibility and envelope feed orientation to avoid misprinting. Note: If your printer can’t handle envelopes, print on a label or sticker sheet and attach it, or use a print shop. Tip: Before printing the whole batch, it’s better to print a test envelope.FAQs
