How to use the 3-circle Venn diagram templates
These templates have three overlapping circles indicating the three data sets. They are ready to download and easy to fill. To use these templates, you can follow the steps below;
- Label the three sets –
Start by labeling the sets. For example, if you are comparing and contrasting the roles of three departments in a company, i.e., marketing, customer service, and sales department, label the circles appropriately.
- Add data -
Replace the pre-written text with appropriate information. Enlist the data under each respective circle. Depending on the project requirements, data can be properties, duties, product features, etc., based on what you are analyzing, for example, a concept, object, or idea.
- Identify the similarities –
At the intersection, enlist all the elements that are shared between the three sets. This section should represent all the elements, features, properties, or characteristics that appear in the three items being considered. It should show the existence of a relationship between the items.
- Identify the differences –
Elements that appear uniquely in each circle represent the differences. So, look at each circle independently. For each circle, identify which elements are not replicated in the other two circles and note them down. Differences are important to show how each concept, idea, or object is distinguishable from the other two.
- Drag and Adjust –
Drag the circles to adjust their positions to present similarities and differences.
A quick note
The templates are customizable. You can edit, modify, or move elements until you have a layout that best suits your use case and preferences.
