In today’s world, there are a lot of distractions, and similarly, the attention span of individuals has shortened. Reading books can assist you in nourishing your mind, enrich your soul, and broaden your comprehension of the world. But while reading a book, readers usually need a structured document, allowing them to enter, track, and record their overall reading experiences.

In this regard, this template provides you with a comprehensive structure for recording your reading experiences. Readers can use it to enhance their reading adventures. This free template has sections where you can review a single book or a series of books and plan your monthly and annual reading schedule. You can also write down your reading list, add a book wishlist, and your finished books while allowing you to set a 100-book challenge and more. 

This reading journal template has distinct sections that are effectively structured to assist you throughout your reading ventures. 

This template has the following sections:

Book Review

Reviewing your favorite books to preserve their stories, characters, and scenes while keeping their memories alive for a long period is a healthy activity. This section allows you to add a picture of the book that you are going to review and rate it from one to five stars. You can write the title, author, genre, and the date when this book was published. The total number of pages and the start and end dates of reading this book can also be written in this section. You can add a concise summary of this book in your own words and a review section for writing the same review. Moreover, a section for writing the favorite parts of the book is provided, and a notes section that allows you to write any additional information about the book. 

Series Book Review

A Series is a long chain of stories that is continuous. In this section, you can review a series of books. On the left side, you can add a picture of this series and rate it with stars. On the right side of this template, you can write the title, author, and genre of the series. A section to write the summary of your series is also provided. You can also write a review of the series in a few sentences. A table to write the details of the series, such as the book title, including the start and end dates is also provided. You can also rate the series with stars from one star to five stars. 

Monthly Book Schedule

How many books you want to read in a month and how many you actually read can be written here. Similarly, the number of minutes you want to read in a month and to what extent you achieved your goals can be adjusted here. This section has the twelve-month names at the top. You can color the current month’s name. A chart with the monthly days is provided, in each day section, you can write the name of the book you are currently reading. A table is present where you can write the names of books that you have read in that month. Their author names, start dates, and end dates can also be written. You can also rate each of these books with rating stars. 

Annual Reading Schedule

For writing the names of the books, you want to read within a year, a section is provided. At the top of this section, you can write the current year’s name. Boxes with twelve-month names are provided. In each monthly box, you can write the names of the books you intend to read that month. 

Reading List

Reading lists show a reflection of your interests, values, and aspirations. In this section of the template, a table for writing your reading list is provided, here you can write a list of books that you have already read. You can write the book’s title, author, start and end dates, and total pages. A rating criteria with stars is provided, where you can rate each book with stars. At the bottom, a notes section is present where you can write any additional information, your favorite books, or quotes. 

My Book Wishlist

Some books inspire us when we know about their release and contents. This inspiration converts into our motivation to read such books. The names of those books that you wish to read or acquire can be listed in this section. A table is provided, where you can write the book titles, their author names, and prices. When you buy a book, you can tick in the front of them with the provided checklist. 

Finished Book

Completing reading a book creates a sense of accomplishment and motivation as we experience a vast journey through imagination. For rating and listing the books that you have finished reading, this section is created. You can write the book titles, authors, and start and end dates. You can also rate your already-read books in this section using stars. 

Book Release

When your favorite author’s books are released, you would love to have them listed in your book release section. In this section, you can write the titles, authors, and release dates of newly arrived books, including their prices.  

Books I have

As a book enthusiast, you would love to enlist the names of the books you already have. It helps you keep track of your book collection. Here, you can write the titles of your books, their authors, and the date when you purchased them. 

Abandoned Books

Sometimes, owing to various reasons, we abandon reading some books. There are sections to add the details of your abandoned books, such as their uthor, the number of pages where you stopped reading, the reason for abandoning the book, and you can also have the option to write whether you would like to read it in the future. 

100 Book Challenge

This is the most interesting part of this template, allowing you to set the challenge of reading 100 books. At the top of this section, you can set the start and end dates for this challenge. Then, 100 book symbols are provided, which you can color as you complete reading any book. 

Book of the Month

As you continue reading books, you encounter some books that touch your heart and soul. Such books become your favorite. This section has boxes with twelve months of a year. In each box, you can paste the picture of your favorite book of that month, its title, and the author’s name. In this way, you can keep track of your twelve best books of the year. 

Favorite Quotes

Some words can have a lasting impact on readers. Such words can touch the hearts of readers. In this favorite quote section of the template, you can write your favorite quotes from books you have read. Here, you can write up to eight quotes, their book names, page numbers, and their author. 

Library Book Tracker

Libraries are houses of wisdom and intellect. Visiting them can enhance your reading and comprehension capabilities. In this section, you can write the names of books you have taken from the library while writing the name of the library and the due date. A checklist is provided, which you can check as you return a specific book to the library.

Notes

This section of the template allows you to add personal reflection and analysis. It provides space for writing any discussions. You can also utilize this section to track your reading progress per your needs.
