See the colored dots on the stub? Tap any one to learn what that part means.
Pick any design. A simple layout suits a single earnings line; a detailed one adds room for deductions, PTO, and year-to-date columns.
Add the business name, address, and any contact info you want on the stub. Whatever you leave blank simply won’t show.
Type the name and address as they should appear. The tool masks the Social Security number automatically, so only the last digits show.
The pay period is the date range the stub covers. The pay date is the day payment goes out. These are often different, so check both.
Pick hourly or salary. Hourly multiplies rate by hours; salary takes the amount directly. Put overtime, bonuses, and tips on their own lines.
Enter taxes, insurance, or retirement contributions. Use the “% of gross” helper to set a deduction as a percentage instead of a fixed amount.
YTD is the running total from the start of the year through this pay date. If you track these figures, turn the fields on; if not, leave them off.
The preview updates as you type. Read it line by line, especially gross and net pay, and fix anything that looks off before you download.
When everything checks out, download a clean, print-ready PDF, ready to print, save, or email.
Pro tip: Name the file with the employee and pay date, so it’s easy to find in your records later.

No. There’s no account, email, or login. Open the tool and start.
It adds up your earnings, deductions, gross, and net pay, and it can set a deduction as a percentage of gross. It does not pull IRS tax tables or work out your withholding, so enter tax amounts from your own payroll records.
Your details stay in your browser. We don’t store the pay stubs you create. Recent drafts are saved only on your device, and download links expire after a short time.
Yes. Enter the details that match the payment. Contractor pay is treated differently from employee wages, so the labels and deductions should match the real working relationship.
The stub records the pay information you enter. Compliance depends on your state’s rules and the accuracy of your figures, so check your state labor department if you need to meet a specific requirement.
There’s no federal law that requires employers to hand out pay stubs. The Fair Labor Standards Act
(FLSA) requires covered employers to keep accurate records of hours and wages, but not to give employees
a stub. Most states require that employees can access a pay statement, and some require it can be
printed; a few have no requirement. Rules vary and change, so check your state labor
department.
